We had waiting for this week to arrive for a long time. On Monday, we signed the papers and did the final walk-through, on Tuesday the loan was funded, and by Wednesday the house was ours! Dylan was out of town, but I dropped off our first load of boxes on Wednesday with the boys. D got home Thursday night, and on Friday we met at the house with the contractors and interior designers. This was the day that I could finally feel it...I really felt like the house belonged to us. I could always see the potential in the house, of course, but I grew really excited as minds came together to formulate some really awesome ideas for the renovation.

| I stopped by on Wednesday- the house had officially sold! |

Our plans include completely re-doing the entryway doors and windows, new floors, interior and exterior paint, new kitchen, some work in the laundry room, building out a mudroom and pantry, building a closet in one of the bedrooms, redoing the fireplace, redoing the boys' bathroom and powder room, all new light fixtures, and adding a window seat. It's a beast of a project, but obviously it could be even bigger.
I have my work cut out for me this weekend picking out materials and finishes and coordinating with the interior designer to get this ball rolling!
So far, things are progressing well with our Morning Vista sale. The inspection period is over, we've agreed on a list of repairs, and the appraisal has been ordered. The buyers want to close by the end of the year, but luckily they've agreed to lease the house back to us for one more month. I honestly don't know how we would get out of the this house by the end of the year if the lease-back hadn't been an option. (Obviously we'd be paying professionals to get us out of here.) The closing of Sunnyside was exciting, but we'll be even more thrilled once we've unloaded Morning Vista!
I've never been so busy in my entire life. It's exhausting and overwhelming and stressful...but it's also the most wonderful time of year and joyous on so many levels. If everything falls together as planned and we can move into Sunnyside shortly after moving out of Morning Vista (while bunking up with my parents in the interim), well that will be the most fortuitous set of circumstances that have ever come together in my entire life. I couldn't have planned it better, even if I had had any control over anything. It will definitely be worth the wait!
